Beginning repair of a large hole
As an antique piece, this repair requires special care as its fibers may be brittle, thus easily damaged. A thorough cleaning removes grime and debris while preserving the existing fibers. The rug is then introduced to our repair workstation.
Reweaving the warp and weft
The warp and weft constitute the foundation of every rug. A meticulous and time-consuming process, this step is critical for upholding the integrity of the rug for years to come.
Design reconstruction
Weaving through the warp and weft, the original design is perpetuated across the new foundation. This process is completed using the same type of fiber your rug is constructed of.
